School 2012

And the school year, now begins!
For me at least.
School started last Monday for highschoolers.
And that means a lot of things are happening at the same time!
This year, I am in my Sophomore year.
Abby is in her 7th grade year
Emma is in her 4th grade year
Abraham is just going for anything.
We all will be attending Noble Youth Commonwealth.

I am also attending Early Morning Seminary that begins at 6:00am. Meaning that I wake up at 4:39 am.
fun.
This year I am taking several classes at Williamsburg Academy .
I am in
American Literature.
U.S. History
Earth Science
Geometry
Fitness for Life
Independent PE
Independent Fine Arts
Shakespeare Conquest
And I will be learning Italian.
So it means that I will have a very, VERY busy next 4 months. But, what can I say...this is the route to graduating early. Therefore, I deal with it.
But all of my mentors are FANTASTIC, and I couldn't want better ones. So, I am really happy!

Happy School Year!

Bubbles and Rain

This year Las Vegas has been blessed
with a bountiful bunch of rain. And it has been so nice!
So last Wednesday, when it was raining,
(and I was in total bliss)
our cousin came over and we went out side and
blew bubbles.
And you may be thinking "How would that work?"
Well, it worked A LOT better than in the sun!

And here is my proof!

They actually stay on the ground!

Forever!

And they change into beautiful
colors!

So we spent many hours out int the rain.

It was so lovely

And the air was so nice

We even had a few games going...
chest bump
;)

Everyone wanted to pop a bubble.

So many say that 2012 would have been terrible,
but if this is 2012?
Im digging it!
Rain all the time...
wow.

Education week

This week, my sister, father and myself are spending the week in Provo, Utah and the BYU campus.
Where we will participate in hearing talks each hour
.
The day begins by waking up at 5:30 each morning.
Our first class starts at 8:30. We either chose to eat breakfast, or we didn't.
I opted not to really eat anything during the week, and to be honest, I felt great! Isn't that crazy, we think we will have more energy if we eat, but we feel so much better when we dont! At least for me.
Oh our human brains. :)
Anyway. So we would listen to various speaker each hour, until 9:30 in the evening. And at the end of each night we would be very exhausted! :) Sitting will do that to you!
But...there is a magical place....in the place of Provo....and it is called....
SAMMYS!

It is a shakeplace, where they put
cupcakes or pecies of
pie in your milkshake!
And it is MUCH better than your normal shake!
Try it!

This is our second day at Education week.
Where I started to go to a few of the
adult classes.
Which, by the way, are just
as good as the youth classes!

This was a lovely sunset, that I couldnt
quite get the right
picture, but I tried.

3 times.

^^Our third day at Education week.^^
;)

It was actually really great!
We left a little early to go and eat.

And we passed all the flowers that are around the
Salt Lake Temple.

This is my favorite picture!

We went to a Mexican
restaurant
And I found this!
snit it just great!
The family whose house we were staying at
said that they had
been to the restaurant before they covered the guy
up!
I think it is just hysterical!

On our final day, Abby and I were very sad that our week was over!
We cant wait till we go next
year!

But we were able to get many good
things in.
We went and saw
The Odd Life of Timothy Green
and that was such
a sad movie!

I was also called and asked if I would be able to play
a musical number in church!
Ha ha. It was Friday night...and we wouldn't
be home till late on Saturday.
I have no idea what took over me, but I said yes...
And I didn't do that bad. :)

But overall it was a great week
and I look forward to it next year!

Meadows Stake Youth Trek

AND WE ARE BACK!
And boy did we have the best 3 days of the
year!
I have to give you many details and many stories
so get ready to
listen, and to laugh!

Here is the Las Vegas Meadows Stake Youth
from ages 14 - 18

At 5 am.

And this is my ward!
Or most of it, a few of the boys are just talking.
Nothing better than getting Andrew to
shy from a camera.

But because I can take pictures
I always find a way, not matter what!

So let me tell you who went,
We had
Cati
Talia
Tashina
Meagan
Morgan R.
Christina
And Me (Morgan, there are 2 of us)

And then there was
Dylan
Taylor
Andrew D.
Brad
Andrew B.
Boston
Joshua
Spencer

So we embarked on this event!
And 5 miles before we got to Mesquite, wannna guess
what happened?

Your right!
We got a flat tire!
Who would'a guessed.
Well,
actually a lot of us did.

So we decided that naps were in our best interest,
as well as singing, and
stealing my camera.

yes! And there is Andrew D. And Taylor.
Andrew being the one who
hates pictures,
took my camera and took tons of pictures!
Please observe.

Good, isn't he?

Yes, well, he only could have fun for so long.
But you can never have enough sleep,
when you wake up at 4 am and get on a bus.

Dang, gotta hate it when your ear
itches!

My BFFL

Someone that I used to know.

And here is me!
Not the best picture in the world,
but I figured you needed something of me!

"I just need sleep" no matter how it comes.

So after many long hours of waiting, we finally arrived!
Got our handcarts and left!

This was my original family

And this is my family that I ended up
in

We were told through out the day that
we were only going to walk 6 miles.
Well, that would have been something
because we ended up walking 11 miles.
So about half way there, we
stopped and had lunch.

We had Navajo Tacos.
And we took off again.

Thanks to Andrews influence,
nobody wanted to have their picture taken

A little way down the road we
had a stop for some gold miners,
they tried to convince us that we should go and get gold.
I think a lot of the members of our ward,
could have done it.
But our leaders objected,
and after I was taking to Dylan and Meagan
and we stated that there
was probably no road to go on if we decided
to go to California.

Here is another stop, for the time that
the one woman didn't want to go any father,
but her daughter tried to convince her,
and God sent them a pie.

And after many struggles, and after many miles of walking, we reached
our camp, and ate dinner, watched 17 miracles,
and went to bed.

The next day it was time for
Bishop to bring on his doctoring skills.
Because we all had some gnarly
blisters.

But no one had it worse than Taylor.

And, he wasn't even admitting that he had one!
Never complained about it,
or anything!!

The best day is when you get
back-rubs, and

Breakfast!

This is about how far we got from camp
before they made us stop.

But this was the hardest part of the trek.
The Womens Pull.
This is when all of the boys left
and just the girls pushed. And they guys couldn't
help but they could see us,
struggling.
It was incredible.
It was literally 2 girls on one cart and 3 girls on
the other cart.
Meagan and I pulled one cart
all by ourselves.

And then after about a 1/2 mile, the
boys came to our rescue.

But what was so neat, was as soon as we reached
the top, our entire ward
turned around and started to help
the other wards.
And it didn't seem as hard.
It was amazing.

After awhile of walking,
Meagan and I started to sing, and we were trying to get
the 4 boys on our cart
(Taylor, Dylan, Brad and Andrew D.)
to sing as well, but they didn't want to.

But we got to see an amazing view of the Grand Canyon!
It was so absolutely beautiful!
I had to keep taking pictures!

We were then told that it was about 2 1/2 miles till
we would get to the
place for lunch.

So we took off .

And about a 1/2 mile later, we were told that
the rest of the way
was down hill,

So Taylor and Andrew D. came in the back
with me.
And almost the entire time,
Andrew kept saying
that he needed his elbow space.
I made sure that I got in his
elbow space.

But after awhile, he got over it.
And luckily Taylor wasn't saying that
he had a problem with me in the back,
even if he did.
Thanks Taylor!!

We arrived at lunch WAY before any of the other wards did.

So we ate,

And sat

And sat some more.

And heard our Pa's and Bishop sing for us.

"IT'S A TWIG!!"

After, they boys had a Stick Pole

We then had our last stop before we made it to camp,

And then we arrived!

Before we had dinner we had a little devotional,
where we had everyone
tell his or her favorite part.

And then had our wards Stick pole!

Girls against Boys!

And here are the two strongest boys!
Taylor and Andrew B.!
Wahoo!
Against each other!

During dinner we got to see that Tashina can eat 12 rolls,
And that Dylan doesn't like
Music and Ice cream.
Crazy kid!

We then had a dance!
And we danced away!

And finally we ended with a game!
Dylan was sitting next to me, and during the game,
he would first say that he
wanted to die,
and then would say that I needed to die.
Nice huh?

In our last day we woke up early, dressed our wounds,
ate breakfast

Had a morning devotional
and left!
We got on our bus for the ride home,
Andrew, Taylor, Dylan and Brad behind me
and my friend.

And guess what happened?
The tease and pictures!

Thanks to all of those who made this trek AMAZING! We had
so much fun!
Even if we were told 6 miles and it ended up
being 11.
;)
